It's a tool that has recently been used by the Dummycrats to put the fear of a draft in the hearts and minds of young voters. Although the Bush camp has said that it will NOT implement a draft, this propaganda machine has done it's job well. There is still a significant number of young people who believe that he will bring back the draft.
Well, I think maybe they better look at the words of their own "champion". He says he wants to increase troop levels by 24-30,000 soldiers...create two more Army Divisions...and he's gonna do this how? By re-enacting the Draft. It's really the only way. When cornered with this question, he only uses his catch-phrase, "I have a plan..." However, I think we deserve to know what this plan is. I think he needs to take into account the fact that several soldiers have pledged to QUIT if he is elected. This is going to leave our forces even MORE strapped. Then, guess what? That's right, kiddies. He's gonna bring back the draft.
Oh, he'll put on his "sorry" face, and he'll look sufficiently sad about his "terrible decision" for the tv cameras, but the fact remains: To bring troop levels to the numbers he wants, requires a draft. It won't matter after he's elected...what's Holy-wood and Michael Moore gonna do? Oh, they'll still sing his praises, and say that he made the decisions that needed made...while he begins his own version of a "new world order".
