It's interesting how Democrats have taken a simple phrase to mean stagnation, when I look at it this way: Staying the course isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Let me dumb it down for those of you who voted for Kerry and Gore...let's imagine that you're driving to the grand opening of a Starbucks and it's about 10 miles away. Let's then imagine that you were in Chicago...of which there is enough construction and other moronic drivers such as yourself as to make the drive a pain in the ass. But you really want that $7 coffee...so you trudge through the construction on the Dan Ryan...and you endure the truck drivers who flip you off because you can't figure out how to use a turn signal. Instead of crying and turning around, you would...say it with me...Stay The Course.
Yeah, that's a little overly simplistic, but I have to take into account some of the audience.
So, while you're staying the course...will you shit a brick if there's a fork in the road? Choosing a direction FORWARD is still "staying the course". It's movement FORWARD...NOT BACKWARD. It means that we're not going to cry and go home. We're not going to make the sacrifices that our soldiers have made meaningless. We're not going to allow terrorism to run rampant any longer. We can't.
So, in summation, you can choose to allow yourself to be duped tnto believing that if the Democrats win the Senate and Congress that our world will be safer by running away...or you can realize that history has shown what happens to those who chicken out.
