Yes Man (2008) Jim Carrey, Zoey Deschanel Short review [/b] Mr. Carrey has proven to be a mixed bag of insanity. He's either very, very good...or awful. For every Grinch or Lemony Snicket, you get something great like The Majestic or Number 23. This film is a good one. The story is about a guy who must say "yes" to everything...and the fun ensues. The moral, if any, seems to be that you should take chances in life and not be a complete stick-in-the-mud, but sometimes it's okay to say, "No". Mixed in the comedy is a romantic dalliance with the enigmatic Zoey Deschanel. She just shines in every performance. I swear if she would just gain about 50 pounds she would be perfect. I'm looking forward to Jim's performance as Ebenezer Scrooge later this year. It seems he's going to be back on a roll again. Hope that you will NOT be forced to see "I love you Phillip Morris", though. I hear that Mr. Carrey tries again to break out of the comedic mold...but goes WAY too far in that film. Stick with drama or horror, if you want a break from comedy Mr. Carrey.
