Hi,
Long Time King Diamond fan, first time to the board.
I have a question that has bothered me for a long time (since 1987) I never really researched to figured it out and decided I will start tonight.
This may be common knowledge, but not to me. So please bare with me.
On the Abigail album, in the Arrival Song (track 2) Obrian of the Black Horseman tells Jonathan "if you don't turn back on this night 18 will become 9"
I never really understood this line. Its sounds cool, and I love the stories within each album but I never really knew what that meant. I figured it is a symbol for something , possibly numeralogy. I am not sure. It sounds spooky though. It probally ties in with the 9 months of pregnancy that happened over night with Mirriam? Maybe it also ties in with the Album 9 by Mercyful Fate? I could only guess.
That King Diamond is clever.
I know that the date in the Abigail story July 7th 1777, is meaningful number because of the 777, don't make me tell you why... I am no expert just have some vague idea about the 7th son of a 7th son ... its a magic number 7 thing ... probally has to do with why Abigail is so evil (or just misunderstood) being killed on that day ... hehe ... really I have no idea.
So if anyone can clear up the 18 is 9 thing, or even throw in a clear description on the power of the number 7 (accept for the vegas craps reason) Please help me out.
I will include the lyrics of the part of the song in question , thanks for your help,
Johnny Moondog
"We know You've come to inherit
what's Yours...the Mansion
Take our advise and
go back on this night
If you refuse 18 will
become 9 ... oh,no"
Oh 18 is 9
Jonathan laughed and said
"Get out of my way
I don't believe a words You say"
The 7 horsemen disappeared
into the night
And said "Some day You'll need
our help my friend"
I think poor Jonathan was scared
18 is actually 9 it stuck in his mind
In the song the Possession Jonathan after realizing that his wife is pregnant with Abigail he said
"So this is 9"
another clue, 9 months of pregnancy?
