Here's something that confuses the hell out of me. During this election, we've heard all the miscreants about how Bush is all for the "special interests", and they always think that they're being clever when they type his name like this: Bu$h
The thing is, they bitch and complain that the rich are ruling us, and telling us what to do...but what is their solution? They want to elect ANOTHER rich bastard who will tell us what to do.

This is why we can never break out of this cycle of the rich ruling the poor. We'll never elect a REAL working man. Someone who has worked his whole life, maybe didn't go to college, even. Why not? Well, it's because of people who say, "Anybody But Bush"...and to be fair, even those of us who say, "Anybody But Kerry". We all continue to vote for the one who can win...instead of who SHOULD win.

This is what I want to see in my lifetime: A President who didn't come from a "rich" background. I'd like to see someone like that have a REAL chance. To be able to debate a rich Democrat about their hypocrisy...to show that they REALLY stand for the poor or middle class...because they're one of them. Maybe he doesn't speak as well, or maybe he didn't go to Harvard, or maybe he thinks that foreign interests should be dead last on our list of priorities...but, he'd have the true pulse of America in his veins.

Bush's "special interests" are Oil & Power. This war make's Bush money personally. He doesn’t care about you and me, just what serves his interests.
Why would I say "Anyone But Bush", uh gee, lets see, short version, the past 4 years pretty much covers that.
And I agree that Kerry is rich, he married the heir of the Heinz Ketchup fortune, of course he's rich. That doesn’t mean he was rich before that, though I'm sure he was well to do, he's been in politics long enough for that.

Regarding his (Kerry's)flip-flops, least those from the presidential/Vice-prez Debates. There is deff a reason to be concerned.
But Anyone who knows Anything about politics knows that riders get placed on bills to be passed.
For those of you who don't know what a "Rider" is, it's a section of a proposed bill that has Absolutely Nothing to do with the rest of the bill. A rider could literally undo what a bill is supposed to fix, and go on to do worse.
So it's hard to judge why a "Tax cut" bill was voted against, unless you read the whole bill (The version voted against), or perhaps go over every single one with Kerry and ask, "Why did you vote against this bill?" Not likely to happen.
But at the same time reason says those could've been voted against because of riders.
I Read the 4 debates (3 pres/ 1 vice-Pres)(my cable kept cutting out when I watched the 2nd Pres) and Bush/Cheney kept coming back to Kerry's voting record, it was 90% of their argument. The other 10%...., My plan/His plan back and forth. That shows that they are having a hard time finding dirt to dig up, and outright lies can have a negative effect on the administration.
Only reason I brought up the flip/flops was the banner at the top of the page for "Bushes Flip-flops" I had to laugh.

As far as getting a real working man that you sketch out, this whole country would have to damn-near self destruct for that to happen. Real leaders regardless of background tend to make lots of money, hence are rarely poor or middle class by the time they would decide to run for office.

On a side note; seems like both camps have all the lawyers geared up and ready to go for the post election scandal. What I read basically says that no matter who wins, the other side's gonna sue for a re-count.

Anyway, I'll restate my original stance. I don't wanna see Kerry in office, but to stop (or at least slow) the growing Fascism in the government, it's an improvement over the current administration. Or at least a chance. I'd rather see a Libertarian in Office, strip the unessentials from gov.

Well, I think that if you wanna see growing fascism, by all means, vote for Kerry. I can agree that I'd rather see a Libertarian in office. I'm sick of the bs from both sides...
My predictions: Kerry's gonna lose by a reasonable margin. When he does, any suit for a recount will be moot. Of course, I believe that they'll drag their own party through the mud, further sickening the American voter.
IF he happens to win, it'll be by a cunt-hair....and I'll be waiting with the "I-told-you-so's" when he establishes a draft to create the force-strength numbers he's been talking about. Of course, I think he'll be completely ineffectual as President because the congress and senate will be filled with repubs...

I just don't understand why you are constantly supporting Kerry. He is completely WRONG for this country.
I have agreed with you that BOTH candidates have their problems...but Kerry is a wrong turn who, if given the chance, will DESTROY this country, either by inaction or by design. I'm endorsing ANYONE BUT KERRY, because of this. If everyone who is voting for Kerry simply because he is not Bush would vote for Badnarik, then we would get one step closer to breaking the 2-party stranglehold.
